Based in Cape Town, Swain Hoogervorst’s paintings explore memory and its elusive, dream-like nature, evoking the unreliability of recollection through vague yet suggestive imagery. A Vega graduate, he has been a top 100 finalist in the ABSA L’Atelier Competition (2013, 2015) and completed residencies across Europe. His solo shows include Inside Out (2014) and Time is a Long Thin Hand (2022). Swain is represented by Everard Read and is featured in international private and public collections.
